This lecture explores the second of two topics related to the first quadrant of our additive manufacturing framework: Tooling. We begin by defining tooling and then provide an overview five areas in which additive manufacturing is seen to provide benefits. We then examine several AM applications in tooling and conclude with a summary of application attributes that make AM a particularly good avenue for value delivery.
