With the recent release of DoDI 5000.85: Major Capability Acquisition, the "major muscle" portions of the old DoDI 5000.02 (now DoDI 5000.02T), including the sections on purpose, policy and procedures, has been replaced, while also incorporating two former enclosures on Life Cycle Sustainment and Affordability Analysis and Investment Constraints. Gone are the six models established in 2013. Policy again puts an emphasis on speed of delivery and tailoring in regulatory requirements.
