History of FFRDCs

We will now go over the history of FFRDCs, which were previously known as Federal Contract Research Centers or FCRCs.  Throughout this topic, we will be discussing major time periods that had impacts on FFRDCs. The five time periods we will be discussing are the: 

• World War II era 

• Early Cold War era 

• Vietnam War era 

• Late Cold War era, and 

• Post-Cold War era.
