In response to the SECWAR Memos on “Transforming for Wartime Acquisition” and new mandates within the FY26 National Defense Authorization Act, the Department of Defense is shifting from slow, compliance-driven program management to the Warfighter Acquisition System (WAS) - a rapid, data-driven, mission-centered approach that delivers capability at the speed of relevance. This web event from the Warfighting Acquisition University provides an actionable roadmap for implementing this transformation using the Digital Acquisition Life Cycle (DALC). Participants will see how the seven DALC phases operationalize SECWAR’s wartime imperatives and NDAA FY26 statutory requirements through digital engineering, model-based decision-making, and warfighter-centered design.
This session synthesizes the latest guidance, demonstrates DALC artifacts (UAF, SysML, BPMN), and uses real examples drawn from recent FY25–FY26 unmanned, AI-enabled, and rapid prototyping programs.
