A key task for software cost estimators is developing an
estimate of the effort required based on some measure of program size. This video provides cost estimators with an example
of using linear regression to calculate a cost estimating relationship that uses
the final size expected for the completed software to estimate the labor effort
necessary to develop it. (While the video uses ESLOC, the concepts are easily applicable to any sizing metric.) The video was
specifically designed for software cost estimators but should be useful for any
acquisition professionals who want to understand the subject from that point of
view.
