In this continuation of DAU's webcast series on the Adaptive Acquisition Framework, we'll explore DoD Instruction 5000.89, Test and Evaluation. DoD 5000.89 was jointly approved by the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD R&E) and Office of the Director, Operational Test and Evaluation (DOT&E) and establishes policy, assigns responsibilities, and provides procedures for test and evaluation (T&E) programs across five of the six pathways of the adaptive acquisition framework: urgent capability acquisition, middle tier of acquisition (MTA), major capability acquisition, software acquisition, and defense business systems (DBS). The webcast will provide an overview of the key elements of the policy, to include new initiatives such as the Integrated Decision Support Key (IDSK), and discuss its implications to implementation of the AAF.
