ZT Symposium - Day 2 - ZT Operational Technology Pilot - Will Schmitt, DoD CIO Zero Trust Portfolio Management Office (PfMO)

The ZT PfMO sponsored a Zero Trust Proof of Concept at Spangdahlem Air Base to determine which Zero Trust Capabilities specified in the DoD Zero Trust Architecture apply to OT networks. The pilot attempted to prototype an accelerated path to the Target Level Zero Trust, with an eye on achieving an Advanced Level where possible. BlastWave and the Operational Technology Zero Trust Alliance (OTZTA) constructed an OT solution tailored to the Spangdahlem Wastewater Treatment Facility. As the pilot proceeded, the team assessed which Zero Trust Target Level guidelines applied to the OT Pilot. A final analysis showed 32 of the 91 ZT were in scope for the proof of concept.​
