To “go fast,” we can’t treat sustainment as an afterthought. We must “bake” it into our acquisition process from the very beginning. This ensures we acquire not just a system, but a warfighting ready life cycle product support package. Join us for a walkthrough using the analogy of a recipe. In our analogy, we will discuss a recipe for success that includes use of the right people to get the correct ingredients, set the “timer” (incremental delivery and quality checks) prior to “baking” and deploying the PS package. Part 1 will focus on the people (logistics, maintenance, and sustainment subject matter experts) who represent the integrated product support elements (what do I need to buy?) and an Army best practice in conducting Maintenance Assessments with military mechanics to inform the IP management plan and contract prior to milestone B or similar decision point. Each session earns 1.5 continuous learning points (CLPs) and will include audience Q&A. This event is part 1 of a 3-part series. Parts 2 and 3 will be held 8 Apr 26 (1200ET) and 5 May 26 (1300ET), respectively.
