Description: The Resilient Systems (RS) directorate in the Strategic Technology Protection and Exploitation Office, under the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering, launched the Cyber Resilient Weapons Systems Body of Knowledge (CRWS-BoK) Portal on May 6, 2021. The RS directorate, under the leadership of Director Melinda Reed, continues to guide portal updates and has worked closely with users to solicit feedback and implement improvements through the release of several version iterations since the initial version launch, with the most recent update on February 9, 2022.
The CRWS-BoK provides a comprehensive repository of publicly available authoritative guidance and knowledge to assist the workforce in the engineering of CRWS. Users (i.e., engineers, science and technology managers, and researchers from across the DoD, Federal Government, industry, and academia) can access, search, annotate, save, and share crucial engineering information needed to develop, maintain, and monitor secure CRWS programs.
The primary features of the CRWS-BoK include:
- A comprehensive, continuously updating repository of curated engineering information to provide users a credible, validated, high quality repository of specialized knowledge
- A powerful viewing environment that enables users to efficiently and easily access, search, annotate, save, and share the engineering information they need for both individual and collaborative purposes
In addition to focusing on formulating policy, standards and best practices to ensure DoD systems are resilient in the face of advanced cyber threats, the RS directorate also partners with science and technology (S&T) professionals to foster assured resilient missions, systems, and components. It leverages best practices and cultivates innovation that enables the Nation's S&T workforce to engineer CRWS that can successfully operate in the face of persistent cyber threats.
In this webinar, Mr. Burhan Adam, Resilient Systems Director for Policy, Guidance, and Standards, Ms. Angela Lungu, and Ms. Madison Rudy, project lead and project lead analyst, respectively, will discuss the CRWS-BoK Portal and provide an overview of its capabilities and key features. The CRWS-BoK Portal is designed to provide up-to-date, publicly accessible CRWS resources that are directly accessible to users via a web browser. It also provides a user-friendly, searchable interface and opportunities to provide direct feedback, including the nomination of additional CRWS resources, to RS.
