The Mission Agility series will cover six 1.5 hour Web Events to introduce Technical Leadership Competencies (TLC) developed for USDR&E by the Systems Engineering Research Center (SERC). Each of the 24 TLCs will have a Systems Thinking exercise focused on meeting Statutory Requirements in 10USC 4001, 4401, 4402, and 4403 with a focus on Promoting Innovation by Fostering Agility in the Mission Environment. Improving Product Transition times throughout Life Cycle Phases is critical to mission success.
Cyber-Physical is the second new modality of training for DAU since January 26, 2024. Asynchronous Immersion was created at DAU to transition WSE-030 and WSE-031 SysML Immersion Part 1 (SysMLone) and Part 2 (SysMLtwo). SysML Immersion - Session 01: Enterprise Ecosystem and MBSE January 29, 2024. Both March and April PILOT offerings filled within a few days. Pilots begin with 50 seats and will scale to 100.
• Asynchronous allows learners to complete lessons on their own time with faculty available during office hours. Live and Video web events of instructional demonstration are optional. The video series can be used for Continuous Learning Points (CLPs) without being registered for a course.
• Immersion is hands on experiential learning like creating models in SysML or BPMN, 30-60-90 Day Plans, Organizational Transformation RACI Charts, Platforms with Sensors reaching a Blooms Level of 6 - Create.
• End User participation in learning content development transitioned DAU to delivering training "at the speed of relevance!" and may be the most important of the many firsts for DAU developing SysMLone.
• Cyber-Physical extends that approach to include a live/recorded web events, live/virtual workshop, and an in person only build workshop {Piloted with Marshall University September 2023}.
These first six DAU Web Events will be in support of a three day workshop April 30 - May 2, 2024 hosted by Mr. Gary Shields, Director Disruptive Technologies Lab at Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Carderock Division in Bethesda, MD. The workshop will be open enrollment for 100 via WSE-027 Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA).
DAU has been working with Mr. Shields since 2021 and established a Mission Assistance (MA) in 2023 to co-develop a Joint Disruptive Technologies Workshop. This workshop has three phases: Workshop Sessions via Web Events / Recorded Video, Live Workshop at customer location or Ft. Belvoir, VA and BuildX at a Sponsoring Customers Location or at a Government Operated Federal Laboratory {10USC 1746(d)}.
