Description:
DoD Systems Engineering guidance states, "Producibility is a design accomplishment for the relative ease of manufacturing. Like manufacturing and other system design functions, producibility is integral to delivering capability to the warfighter effectively and efficiently. Producible designs are lower risk, more cost-effective, and repeatable, which enhances product reliability and supportability." However, most existing DoD producibility guidance was published during the 1980s and 1990s and may not align with current DoD engineering practices and evolving advanced manufacturing capabilities. To address this knowledge gap, during 2023 the Office of Secretary of Defense (Research and Engineering) is developing a new Producibility Guide to be released by the end of 2023. This Webinar provides an overview of concepts to be included in the new guide.
Speakers:
Mr. R. Chris DeLuca (U.S. Army Colonel, Ret.), Director of Specialty Engineering at the Office of Undersecretary of Defense (Research and Engineering), Systems Engineering and Architecture.
Praneetha Poloju, Chief Semiconductor Technologist at Microsoft's Strategic Missions and Technology organization / Vice Chair National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) Manufacturing Division
