DoD Web applications used in aiding the recovery of service men and women who may become isolated, injured, or encounter duress during wartime missions. The applications are used for locating, identifying, authenticating and recovering personnel during isolating events while in combat situations. They contain personally identifying information such as height, hair color, scars/marks/tattoo's, fingerprints and photographs. As well as the repository of all 406MHz distress beacons and mission execution data such as location, terrain, weather, ATO information (allied &/or enemy forces) and the individuals ISOPREP all in a single fast to use web site application. These tools provide valuable lifesaving information to Recovery Coordinators allowing them to making time sensitive decisions during high stress recovery events.
These web applications were traditionally developed using the waterfall process model and underwent a digital transformation to DevSecOps. This change has resulted in rapid software delivery capabilities and high customer satisfaction by adapting to the ever-changing needs of the warfighters and those whose stewardship it is to ensure their safe return to their families. The Personnel Recovery Command and Control (PRC2) team is a gold standard of AF DevSecOps practices and continues to set the pace for AF Software development.
