OBJECTIVE
Highlight and categorize key issues and themes affecting timeliness and workload planning at ground, aviation, and shipyard depots.
ABSTRACT
Depots play a key role in sustaining readiness by completing maintenance on time and returning refurbished equipment to warfighting customers. The U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO)—an independent, nonpartisan agency that provides auditing, evaluation, and investigative services for Congress—recently issued three reports reviewing factors affecting the timeliness and workload planning at ground, aviation, and shipyard depots. Panelists will offer viewpoints on the extent DOD has assessed and mitigated risks of maintenance delay, along with how DOD's action may be further affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
