Serious people know that thinking about the future is frivolous; anyone not laser-focused on the acquisition problems of today is wasting time and money. Right? Wrong. To successfully confront the challenges of today and those yet to come, we also have to consider how the steps we take, and those we might take, will play out over time. Futures thinking is about looking into your future as a way to reveal and plan for what to do about it. This session will help you appreciate why you should become aware of the forces that are already driving you to a potential future, and the range of possible futures you might experience, both good and bad. You will also realize there are things you can start doing, now, to shape the future you would prefer. This talk will introduce a strategic planning method you can use to look into your future and plan how to act. Speaker: Dr. Glenn Lamartin.
