DAU and NavalX hosted a discussion exploring three angles on why and how we can think differently about cybersecurity risk Feb. 5, 2020. The presentations shown during this event are available under the Attachments tab above. About this Event - The Adaptive Acquisition Framework (AAF) prompts us to think differently about the acquisition process. While there are different pathways to consider for an acquisition strategy, cybersecurity is an important consideration for all of them. Katie Arrington, Chief Information Security Officer in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Acquisition provides opening remarks about the importance of understanding cybersecurity risk and the Department's Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC).
The DoD workforce angle comes from LCDR Ryan Hilger, US Navy.
The industry angle is provided by Douglas Hubbard, author of "How to Measure Anything in Cybersecurity Risk", who shares tried and tested quantitative approaches to measure and mitigate cybersecurity risk differently. DAU Cybersecurity Learning Director Timothy Denman discusses how DAU addresses cybersecurity risk within the AAF in its curriculum and online resources.
