Configuration Management's Brave New World Presented at the 2017 Acquisition Training Symposium by Mr. Patrick Dallosta, DAU; Mr. Dan Christensen, NAVAIRSYSCOM, US Government representative to the SAE G-33 Configuration Management Committee and Mr. Mike Treadwell, Northrop Grumman Corporation, Chairman of the SAE G-33 Configuration Management Committee. The Department of Defense’s adoption of the commercial standard SAE-EIA-649-1 “Configuration Management Requirements for Defense Contracts” culminates a series of actions by government and industry organizations to establish consensus Configuration Management standards. The presentation addresses the impact of SAE-EIA-649-1 in the establishment of configuration management processes that define Defense contract requirements in terms of “provider” and “supplier” roles and responsibilities.
